Family Lifestyle Photography in Canmore

Destination Family Lifestyle Photography

I love photographing this beautiful family every time I have the chance. When Jill messaged about the potential for me photograph her family at their cabin in Canmore I was delighted. One of the best things about lifestyle photography is being able to incorporate your unique family’s story in pictures. Whether your family has a cabin on a lake, or a favourite playground in the city, your frequented locations are part of who you are. If we use meaningful locations compared to generic ones we create much more meaningful images. This is one of differences between standard portraits and creating lifestyle photography.

With my unique style of lifestyle photography we incorporate your favourite places, activities, and (of course) people into your session. This adorable family chose their vacation spot, their kids favourite bike trail and their favourite family activities- finding fossils and skipping rocks. Between having some fun while I photograph candids and capturing relaxed portraits to hang on the wall, we got a wonderful variety of posed and natural images for their gallery.

My family was also happy for a little getaway to Canmore while I “worked” (I put that in quotations because hanging out with awesome people rarely feels like work!). We stayed at the Pocaterra Inn which is great value and a nice hotel for families. We often also stay there for our ski vacations as it’s one of the very best priced hotels in the Rockies with a waterslide and breakfast for the family. It’s a great jumping off place for family adventures. If you’re looking for more fun family activities, please check out my travelling with kids blog for more ideas.

I’d love to photograph your family this summer in your favourite destinations. We will be visiting Radium, Nordegg, Calgary and Kananaskis this summer. If you’d like to chat to brainstorm ideas for your perfect destination family lifestyle photography, drop me a message and let’s book you in.
