Family Portraits at their Lake Wabamun Cabin

Family Portraits at the Cabin – Lake Wabamun Magic

There’s something truly special about lake life — the slower pace, the screen-free afternoons, the sandy feet and tangled hair that come with a day well spent. So when this beautiful family invited me out to their cabin at Lake Wabamun for their family portraits, I knew it was going to be one of those sessions I’d never forget.

As a family photographer in Edmonton, I love the energy of the city, but there’s something different — something deeper — about photographing families in the places that hold their memories. At the cabin, everyone just exhales. The kids know where to run. Grandma knows where her favourite chair sits in the sun. And every tree, dock, and deck board tells part of your family’s story.

This particular evening at Lake Wabamun was golden in all the best ways. The kids skipped rocks, we explored the shoreline, and we ended the session barefoot on the dock as the sun dropped low over the water. The family didn’t just pose for photos — they lived a little slice of their real life while I quietly documented the love and connection between them. That’s the kind of session I live for.

If your family has a cabin — whether it’s at Lake Wabamun, Pigeon Lake, or tucked away somewhere no one else knows about — let’s go there. Let’s photograph your people in the place where your best memories are already being made. Family portraits don’t have to happen in a studio or city park. They can happen on your deck, by your firepit, or out on the boat, wrapped in cozy sweatshirts and stories.

As a family photographer based in Edmonton, I’m happy to travel to your cabin for a session that’s deeply personal, relaxed, and meaningful. These are the photos that bring you back — to long weekends, summer traditions, and the kind of love that lives between generations.

So if you’ve been thinking about family portraits and your cabin is the heart of your family life, this is your sign.

Reach out here to plan your cabin session — I’ll bring my camera, you bring the memories.
