Gini & Bryan- Edmonton (& Innisfail!) esession

June 9, 2010

So Gini & Bryan and I were all set to meet for their engagement session in Edmonton. I had scouted out locations and they drove up from Calgary and got all prettied up only to get rained out in 4 degree weather. After hitting up some cherry blossoms (Gini’s favourite!) we decided it was to cold to continue. Only problem was finding a time to meet up again. Finally we figured out we could meet in my home town of Innisfail on a weeknight (conveniently located 1/2 way for both of us). The rain ended up being a blessing in disguise since our night out in Innisfail was gorgeous. I even took them to Innisfail’s famous drive through- D&R. If you ever need to stop for a milkshake break on a drive down highway 2, I highly recommend it. Small towns just have that charm that just can’t be duplicated.

Thanks for two great nights.  I had so much fun hanging out with you both (and thanks for the milkshake-mmmm- licorice flavour!)

On a funny side note while we were shooting in a cow pasture  when Gini announced that she had never actually seen a cow pattie. I had a good laugh over that and told her that the cows wouldn’t bother us.  Gini and Bryan were sitting pretty in the grass while I was oogling over the evening light when Gini shrieks that the cows are stampeding towards us. I tell them not to worry when all of a sudden the cows are really running over- picking up dust like out of an old western movie. I tell you, I have NEVER seen a girl in 4 inch heel run across  a field full of cow patties and gopher holes so fast!!!  I kept yelling “don’t worry!! stop running!! don’t hurt yourselves!!” but they were back at the car in 20 seconds flat. You know you really have to look out for those killer cows. 🙂

Beautiful shots! You really captured Gini and Bryan connecting! I love the use of light in your photos.

PRAISE THE LORD !!!!! Very beautiful pictures taken professionally. I like the one with a kissing action at the table with fries + ketchup. Bryan looked like he was praying to GOD while Gini was wholeheartedly ready for a genuine KISS.

I LOVE LOVE these pictures! They turned out so well!

What beautiful pictures =) I especially love the ones that you took with the cherry blossoms and the one with the big red heart!

These pictures are really cute! Captures both of their outgoing spirits and poses aren’t too contrived, but very natural. I love it.

Awesome awesome! It’s cool to see the good ole D&R on the blog 🙂 But.. no mushroom fries? ha!
Love the cow story.. too funny.
Great photo’s as always.

Wow, Gini and Bryan – I love the photos, I think there are so many that would be perfect to frame. Gini – I wish there was a photo of the cows chasing you in your pretty little outfit ;o)

Love Love Love these photos….especially the one where Bryan jumps up and clicks his heels…I get a kick out of that! The photo with Gini and Bryan kissing over the fries is a classic….great background, great models and a great photographer!

Pictures are outstanding! Colors are astonishing!

Both of you look great! Can’t wait to see more and your actual wedding photos! The one of you feeding Bryan the burger reminds me of when we all went to Las Vegas in 2005 and ate at every burger joint we saw! See both of you soon! XOXO – Tiff

Omigosh – thanks so much Kelsy! These are both beautiful and fun at the same time!!! The only evidence of rain during that first shoot is my crazy clumpy hair – you made it look like a decent night! And I’d like to reiterate: “the cows are really running over – picking up dust”…!!! Ever heard of the survival of the fittest theory? lol! I like making new friends, but not that kind. 😉

Thanks again for two super fun nights – for sticking it out in the freezing rain, and for offering to meet us in your hometown after two busy days of moving. We are so grateful to have you as our photographer, and we can’t wait to see you again in a few weeks! (Yikes!!)

geez Kelsy these are flippin gorgeous!! They’re all so great but I think I love the cherry blossom ones the most~ perfectly soft beautiful pink. So lovely! And that trail?? amazing.

Awesome images and a cute cow story…..and most importantly you told me where to find a licorice milkshake. I have been searching for years.
