Family Lifestyle Session at the Wildlife Underpass

October 8, 2020

2020’s fall portrait season is in full swing, so no better time to share this gorgeous family from last year!  We walked down to the Wildlife underpass under the Anthony Henday and had some fun exploring the trails.  The weather was perfect for late fall and the crisp fall air was all around us.  I loved the boys colourful puffy vests adding a pop of colour into our session (and they kept them warm and cozy!).

After having some fun I made a special point to photograph mom and dad.  At the end of every session I try to photograph the parents. Often family sessions just become all about the kids.  We need celebrate parents and their relationship more. After wedding pictures there’s rarely any professional portraits of couples, even though getting married is the easy part. I want to celebrate the years together, and not just the good parts,  celebrate making it through the hard parts.  Like the middle of the night wake ups, the long days and the late night conversations. Parents are heroes that should be photographed. It’s not always an easy journey together and your relationship should be beautifully documented.   Your love deserves even more than 10 minutes at the end of our session for a few quick pictures, but let’s start with that 😉

If you are looking for last minute fall family portraits, I may be able to squeeze you in later this month. I also have a full urban loft studio downtown when the weather turns colder. Don’t forget that winter is a perfectly beautiful time for family portraits as well- we have lots of fun in snow, with lots of time to warm up! And don’t forget hot chocolate! If you’re currently looking for a mini session for your Christmas cards, they will be announced very, very soon! Make sure you sign up for my newsletter for first dibs on availability. There’s a link in the left side of this blog to sign up now. And don’t worry, my newsletters are infrequent but always include special bonuses!

Thanks Fleetwood Family for spending such a gorgeous fall night with me! I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
